The Blue Ridge Mountains

Our house is a fantastic home base to explore the Blue Ridge Mountains.  With four beautifully distinct seasons, there’s something new to see and do every visit.  Disconnect from the hustle of everyday life and get outside.  There are countless opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, climbing, exploring hidden waterfalls, mountain lakes, and spotting wildlife.
The fall season is particularly popular in the North Carolina mountains.  The leaves create a tremendous display of color, and the temperatures are cooler and mild.

In the winter, visit App Ski Mountain, Sugar or Beech Mountain.  The area does get snow and the resorts do a great job of making additional snow to extend the season from early December through the middle of March most years.  A drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway in winter is also a great way to spend the afternoon.

Are You Coming Out To Play?

Hiking and biking trails are scattered throughout the area, including trails the lead directly out our door, connecting with the popular Boone Greenway Trail.  Guide maps to local trails are available at the house for your convenience.

And last but not least, just take an afternoon to climb into a hammock, stretch out, read a book or take a nap.  Spending time outdoors is refreshing for body and soul.
